Kids Just Wannna Rock and Roll All Night ... and Party Everyday

Hard-core 6-12-years-olds battle it out like true rockers to earn the title of "Ultimate RockSTAR."

From a press release:

Los Angeles’ favorite mini rock ‘n’ rollers are invading the Sunset Strip once again! STAR Education’s RockSTAR Music Education program is taking over the House of Blues, Saturday & Sunday, May 31st and June 1st, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for the 9th Annual RockSTAR Battle of the Bands. This two-day festival features over 130 student rock bands and brings family and friends from all around the country to watch these hard-core 6-12-years-olds battle it out like true rockers to earn the title of “Ultimate RockSTAR.”

Don’t let their sizes fool you, these young musicians might be small, but their sound is BIG and they are ready to leave it all out there on the stage. Celebrate these pint-sized rockers’ musical talents, hard work, dedication and incredible style. Previous RockSTAR event attendees include Travis Barker, Run DMC, Perry Farrel, and Raphael Saadiq.

Watch these kids tear it down at the legendary House of Blues playing the classics we know and love and even their own original songs. They have worked hard all year for the opportunity to live the dream and battle it out while dressed for the part in rock ‘n’ roll attire complete with hair dye, fake tattoos and the clothes to match.

RockSTAR, a STAR Education program, was founded over eight years ago with the fundamental mission of bringing music back into schools that had slashed their own music programs because of budget cuts. RockSTAR’s notoriety has gained celebrity support from rock icons such as Slash, Santana, Britney Spears, Taylor Dayne, DMC, Chris Slade of AC/DC, Gene Simmons, Sammy Hagar and more. By harnessing the cognitive, social and creative benefits of music education, RockSTAR allows children to hone musical skills, gain self confidence, practice teamwork, and develop a sense of professionalism. RockSTAR is the most established and successful non-profit after-school rock 'n' roll music education program in California. Our programs are in over 80 elementary schools in Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacrament, New York, and Nashville. RockSTAR brings music education back into schools and into the lives of children through an exciting, innovative, and relevant format.
