The days leading up to 's senior commencement were full of rehearsals, logistics and remembrance.
"We had a lot of challenges this year," said ESL coordinator Randy Grant. The school battled budget cuts and an atmosphere of uncertainty, but the graduating class is full of energy and sophistication. "This group, they just have a great amount of energy," Grant said.
About 480 students will graduate Thursday evening. This year's motto: "It Feels So Nice to Win Twice."
"It's bittersweet, leaving the place we've been coming to for four years" said valedictorian Min-Ji Yi, who will be attending Harvard University next year, "but we'll be moving onto bigger and better things, so it's kind of exciting."
Fairfax High's commencement will take place at the University of Southern California's Galen Center at 7 p.m. Attached is the grad program.
