Tuesday's Scoop: Fairfax High to Honor National Flag Day in Song

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Tuesday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: National Flag Day

President Truman signed an Act of Congress in 1949 designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day. is one of four LAUSD schools honoring the U.S. flag with special performances and renditions of patriotic songs. More than 50 war veterans and Honor Guards representing the U.S. Armed Forces are expected to take part in the festivities.

Other Happenings:

• The Los Angeles Art Association at presents the fourth annual all-media art exhibition Out There, celebrating the LGBT experience, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• A Community Development Director's meetingwill be held at 5 p.m. in . On the agenda is a public hearing for SUR Restaurant at 606–614 N. Robertson Blvd.
• The city's Human Services Commission meets at 6 p.m. in  Rooms 5 and 6. The commission will receive a report on the 30th anniversary of the AIDS epidemic and on HIV prevention outreach, according to the agenda.
• The West Hollywood Women's Mastermind Group gathers for its monthly meeting in the at 6:30 p.m. The event offers a means to connect and network with other women in the community.

The Forecast:

• It's warming up in Weho. The National Weather Service predicts a sunny day, with a high near 81. The evening will see mostly clear skies, with a low around 60.
