"Choice: An Interfaith Perspective:

Learn how to stand up and speak out for reproductive rights from religious leaders and other activists at this free community program.

The event is co-sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles, the California Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Miracle Mile NOW, Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, and NARAL Pro-Choice America. The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.  

The program includes a panel discussion of clergy members, a "Lobbying 101" session, and hands-on advocacy workshops.

Guest speakers on the clergy panel include Rev. Carissa Baldwin of the Episcopalian congregation All Saints Church, Rev. Chandana Karuna of International Buddhist Meditation Center, Rev. Frank Wulf of the Methodist congregation United University Church, and Rabbi Jill Zimmerman, formerly of Temple Emanuel.

There will be three concurrent advocacy workshops: "How to Get Your Piece in the Paper," presented by Labrea News/Beverly Press Publisher Karen Villalpando, "How to Meet with a Legislator," led by Jerilyn Stapleton of the Jewish Labor Committee and the Peace Alliance, and "Meet the Religious Leaders," a question-and-answer session with the clergy panelists.
