Final Public Meeting in Weho Community Study on Thursday

Residents' last chance to share their thoughts about social services and how the city should plan for them.

The City of West Hollywood will host the last of a series of public events regarding the 2013 Community Study tomorrow, Thursday, March 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Rooms 5 and 6 at the Plummer Park Community Center located at 7377 Santa Monica Blvd.

“We have so appreciated all the community members who have participated in the surveys, focus groups and pop up workshops,” Ruth Cislowski, chair of the City’s Human Services Commission, was quoted as saying in a news statement.

“The Community Meeting is another opportunity for our community to share their thoughts about social services and how the City of West Hollywood should plan for the future,” Cislowski added.

Weho’s 2013 Community Study is aimed at updating the city’s demographics while gathering information about the community’s social services needs so that officials can determine funding priorities for the services.

The process began in early January, when more than 5,000 surveys were mailed to every fourth household in West Hollywood. Subsequently, the city sent out targeted surveys and also hosted focus groups and pop-up workshops that were dependent on public participation.

Thursday’s final community meeting will be a culmination of those community participation strategies.
