John Chase Memorial Celebration

A Memorial Celebration for West Hollywood Urban Designer John Leighton Chase will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.  John Leighton Chase passed away unexpectedly at his home early in the morning on Friday, August 13, 2010 in Los Angeles.

John Leighton Chase served as the City of West Hollywood's Urban Designer for fourteen years where he influenced and shaped a new vision for design and planning in the city.  Significant projects that Chase influenced include the Santa Monica Boulevard Streetscape Project, the Historic Preservation Survey Update, and the General Plan Update.  Prior to joining the City of West Hollywood, he was a Principal at Chase & Burnett, Inc., his own architectural consulting firm. In private practice he focused on residential and commercial architectural design including several projects in West Hollywood. Before opening his own practice, John worked as an Imagineer for Walt Disney.
