City Seeks Volunteers for Homeless Count

L.A. County wants 5,000 volunteers to document the homeless population.

The following is a notice posted on the city's website.

The 2013 Count is an opportunity for everyone throughout L.A. County to play a tremendous role in ending homelessness. Volunteers are needed for the point-in-time count of homeless people in the city of West Hollywood on Thursday, January 31, 2013. Volunteers will meet at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, 780 N. San Vicente Blvd. at 8 p.m.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) is the lead agency responsible for completing the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count every two years. The Count helps LAHSA demonstrate our area’s need for housing, shelter and service programs to the federal government.
