A 56-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing boxes of miscellaneous gum, candy, cigars and cigarettes from a 7-Eleven store in West Hollywood, sheriff's officials announced Friday.
Kamram Mohabber was arrested Thursday in connection with the burglary at the store located in the 7600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, between Fairfax and La Brea avenues, said Sgt. Rich Pena of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
A search of Mohabber's minivan turned up numerous unopened boxes of miscellaneous items including gum, candy, cough syrup, cigars and cigarettes, Pena said. Authorities believe all the items were stolen.
When detectives searched an apartment in Los Angeles, they found "vast amounts of merchandise similar to the items found in Mohabber's minivan along with additional valuables believed to be stolen," Pena said, adding that some of the merchandise was still in boxes and some things were stacked around the apartment.
Further investigation will continue in order to identify additional owners of the recovered property. Authorities urged anyone with information regarding this burglary to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
Next time just think, iis the kid selling candy really doing the best he can to better his educatuon system?? Staying home and doing homework would help their education infinitely more than spending hours trolling the streets selling candy. a polite friendly "no thank you" by everyone, and the problem will solve itself. No need to rag/argue with the kids. They are being unwitting victims of this candy scam.
