Weho Police Impersonator Arrested, Released

The suspect is a car full of girls 'playing a song with loud sirens in it,' tweets one witness.

There was allegedly a big hullabaloo outside The Abbey late Sunday afternoon.

LAist reported deputies responded to a call around 4:25 p.m. regarding a driver impersonating a police officer near Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

"LAPD booted the call over to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station when the alleged impersonator crossed municipal boundaries, according to LAist. "By the time sheriff's deputies pulled over the car and cuffed the alleged suspects, they were in front of The Abbey in West Hollywood."

Australian drag queen Courtney Act happened to be on the scene. "From the Lesbians mouth! They were playing a song with loud sirens in it and they got arrested for impersonating police," she tweeted Weho Daily at 5:50 p.m.

The LAPD confirmed the gaffe. "I think it was just some sort of motorist being annoyed," LAPD Officer Karen Rayner told LAist.

Yes let's talk about Heilman appointing an ex-con as a city official. Or let's multiply the citizens who live here by $10k a head to see if the city manager makes more of less then Obama. What about the grim reaper Lindsey I heard she's lurking on the transportation commission waiting for someone new to die so she can further political career. How about Abbe Land becoming CEO of the Trevor Project for 250k plus expenses and benefits. Going to move all that social service & developer money from Saban to Trevor. Duran launched his bid for re-election & he needs $500 a head if you got it .. give it to him. Prang's not in the same hurry since he's sitting pretty with everyone right now. YAWN

I will actively help any of the candidates who will be challenging Prang or Duran so to make sure they are voted out of WH city council. They need to go folks. This is obscene that they have been sitting as council members for so many years now. Give other people a chance. We need new people not the same ole gang making important decisions.

when a drag queen's tweets are crucial testimony in a news story you know you're in west hollywood. gotta love this city! paul, if the length of their appointments is your main criteria you may be targeting the wrong candidates?

Anti-incumbency strictly for the sake of anti-incumbency makes absolutely no sense. Duran has performed well and is one of the big reasons why the council majority recently flipped from the Heilman-Land stranglehold. It makes no sense to punish him for the evil done by Heilman and Land. Booting Duran off just gives Heilman-Land the opportunity to thrive again. Then again, it's your face, feel free to cut your nose off to spite it if you like.
