Weho Police Impersonator Arrested, Released

The suspect is a car full of girls 'playing a song with loud sirens in it,' tweets one witness.

There was allegedly a big hullabaloo outside The Abbey late Sunday afternoon.

LAist reported deputies responded to a call around 4:25 p.m. regarding a driver impersonating a police officer near Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

"LAPD booted the call over to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station when the alleged impersonator crossed municipal boundaries, according to LAist. "By the time sheriff's deputies pulled over the car and cuffed the alleged suspects, they were in front of The Abbey in West Hollywood."

Australian drag queen Courtney Act happened to be on the scene. "From the Lesbians mouth! They were playing a song with loud sirens in it and they got arrested for impersonating police," she tweeted Weho Daily at 5:50 p.m.

The LAPD confirmed the gaffe. "I think it was just some sort of motorist being annoyed," LAPD Officer Karen Rayner told LAist.
