3 Arrested in Home Invasion Robbery

Police apprehend three men on La Brea Avenue in Weho early Wednesday after connecting them to a Los Angeles home robbery involving a handgun.

Three suspects were arrested Wednesday in connection with a home invasion robbery, according to a news release from the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station.

Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop of a vehicle at 1115 N. La Brea Ave. in West Hollywood at about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle, a black four-door Hyundai Elantra, had been entered into the Stolen Vehicle System by Los Angeles Police Department-Newton Division detectives, according to the report. Its occupants were suspected of involvement in a home invasion robbery in which a handgun was used, the report said.

Augustine Taplah, 37, of Charlotte, NC; Mannue Giplaye, 28, of Aurora, CO; and Jeff McCabe, 43, of Ontario, Canada, were arrested and booked at West Hollywood Station on suspicion of reasonable cause home invasion robbery.

Charges in the cases were expected to be filed Friday in Los Angeles.
