Decomposing Body Found in Car Identified
The body found decomposing in the back of an SUV on June 9 has been identified as Steven John Simmons of Running Springs. LAPD are looking for a person of interest named Jacob Anthonisen, the victim's step brother and owner of the SUV.
A man found fatally shot in the rear of a Cadillac Escalade SUV in West Hollywood on June 9 has been identified as 32-year-old Steven John Simmons of Running Springs.
Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division detectives are looking for a person of interest named Jacob Anthonisen, who is the step-brother of Simmons and is the owner of the SUV.
Despite the advanced state of decomposition of the remains, investigators were able to determine the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.

A stench coming from the car, which was parked near Willoughby Avenue and Genesee Avenue, prompted someone to call police about 10 a.m. on June 9.
