OBIT: Man who Helped Start Recycling Program in WeHo

Patrick Columbus Wall was also an Emmy Award-winning documentarian.

Patrick Columbus Wall, a Newfoundland native who produced the public access television show "Earth Alert" and won a local Emmy Award in 1988 for his documentary on pollution in Marina del Rey, died at age 68 at Olive View Medical Center after a short illness.

The former Greenpeace volunteer, also known for helping institute recycling in West Hollywood, lived alone in Palmdale. 

Wall is survived by brothers John, Michael and James Wall; sisters Agnes, Marie and Veronica; and numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and - nieces, and cousins, most of whom live in Canada, as well as his ex-wife, Janet Marie Bridgers of Albuquerque.
