Wednesday's Scoop: Megan Mullally, Jimmy Cliff, Board Meetings and More

"Will & Grace's" Megan Mullally sings at Largo. Reggae master Jimmy Cliff plays the Troubadour. A one-woman autobiographical show weighs LA against Buenos Aires. Four of the city's advisory boards meet.

Greetings and welcome to City Scoop. Today is Wednesday, June 27, the 179h day of 2012. Here’s what’s going on in West Hollywood today.

Mullally’s Lullabies and More

“Karen Walker. I thought I smelled gin . . . and regret.” Those words spoken by her arch nemesis, Beverly Leslie, summed up the irascible and oh-so-funny gin-swilling, pill-popping character from TV’s Will & Grace. There might be some gin in the air but no regret as Karen Walker’s portrayer Megan Mullally, an accomplished singer as well as a gifted actress, comes to for a night of songs and a few anecdotes. Showtime is 8:30 p.m.

Argentina and LA

Caught in the middle of her parents’ tumultuous marriage, Karen Anzoategui was shipped between Buenos Aires and Los Angeles as a kid. That made for some torturous memories but also a fascinating one-woman autobiographical show. Anzoategui performs ``Ser: L.A. vs. B.A.: A Queer Transnational Show,” as part of the One City/One Pride series of performances. Showtime is 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber in Admission is free.
