Sunday's Scoop: Concert in the Park, Shakespeare in the Park

Summer Sounds

It’s a lazy Sunday, so enjoy a concert in the park as the city’s Summer Sounds concert series offers a show by Incendio. A Latin guitar world-fusion group, Incendio has elements of Celtic, middle-eastern and electronica in its jazzy show. Showtime is 4 p.m. in . Best of all, it’s free.

Shakespeare in the Park

It’s your last chance to take enjoy Shakespeare in the Park as The Merchant of Venice has its final performance. A tale of thwarted romance with cross-dressing, secret identities, witty wordplay and general silliness, this show by the Classic Lab Theater has been getting raves. The comedy plays today at 4 p.m. in . Admission is free.

It may not have all the drama of the 1990s campy nighttime soap opera, but the does have lots of fresh produce for sale. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the certified market is a popular destination for locals looking to stock up on fresh items to start the week. The market is located on Melrose Place (just off Melrose Avenue) between Orlando Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard.
