Nicole Mitchell’s Sun Dial Ensemble and the Young Artists Competition Winners Open the Angel City Jazz Festival

The Angel City Jazz Festival will open its 6th
annual season at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of
Art) at 6:00pm on Friday October 4 with a free outdoor concert featuring
the winner of the Angel City Jazz Young Artists Competition followed at 7:00pm
by a set from noted flautist Nicole
Mitchell’s Sun Dial Ensemble. The 2013 Angel City Jazz Festival is
co-presented by The Jazz Bakery, in association with Icons
Among Us®: jazz in the present tense,
and the theme for the 2013
festival is “Metamorphosis: Artists on the Cutting
Edge of Change.”
