Tuesday's Scoop: Music Gala, Taste Art and Construction

Education Through Music holds a fundraiser and the National Council of Jewish Women teams up with the city and Cedars-Sinai for a breast cancer education forum.

Breast Cancer Educational Forum
The city of West Hollywood has teamed up with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the National Council of Jewish Women L.A. to present a Breast Cancer Educational Forum. The event is free and will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the National Council of Jewish Women, 543 N. Fairfax Avenue. 

Education Music Gala
Education Through Music L.A. will host its fifth anniversary gala fundraiser at the House of Blues on Tuesday night. Education Through Music is a nonprofit organization that works to provide music education in underserved schools. Students in the program and members of the L.A. funk band Bern will perform songs that Michael Giacchino composed for the movie Up. Actress Kate Flannery (The Office) will emcee. Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse and The Tonight Show music director Rickey Minor (former music director for American Idol) are scheduled to present. Taste Art
The dinner series put on by The Avenues, pairs food and art together. Chefs prepare dishes inspired by the artwork and guests dine alongside paintings and sculptures from Weho galleries. Construction Near Cedars-Sinai 
A construction advisory is in effect until Oct. 22 as construction workers install an electrical vault below San Vicente Boulevard. The street will be reduced to one lane northbound and one lane southbound between Beverly Boulevard and Gracie Allen Drive.
