Tuesday's Scoop: LAUSD Wants Your Input on Redistricting Process

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Tuesday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Board District 4 Redistricting Community Outreach Meeting

Parents, families, students, partners and community members of District 4, which includes West Hollywood, are encouraged to both learn about and influence the redistricting process and its impact on neighborhood schools at a 6 p.m. meeting at Helen Bernstein High School in nearby Los Angeles. The city announcement says: "Come and tell LAUSD Redistricting Commissioners what YOU would like to see in the new Board District map!"

Also Today: James Hormel Book Signing

The first openly gay U.S. ambassador will present and sign copies of Fit to Serve at this evening. Hormel, a former antiwar activist, indulges readers with his "secret life, private struggle, and public battle to become the first openly gay U.S. ambassador." His gripping memoir costs $24.95.

The Forecast: Rain

Expect rain today. The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 63, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation. There will be showers mainly before 10 p.m. and a low around 54.
