The 2012 Pride Parade on Sunday brought out thousands and thousands of people to watch the procession travel the two-mile route down Santa Monica Boulevard from Crescent Heights to Robertson Boulevard.
Lasting just over two hours, 131 contingents were in the parade, ranging from local politicians to parade honorees to local businesses.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa with a bullhorn told those gathered on the sidewalks, "Happy Pride Day."
Parade Grand Marshal, actress Molly Ringwald blew kisses to everyone while riding on a Greek themed float.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation rode in its Rose Bowl-award winning float, a tribute to the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, an early AIDS activist.
Bank of America had a 550-person strong contingent, all wearing red shirts and waving rainbow flags. Meanwhile trendy gay bar The Abbey had a fleet of Mini Cooper automobiles ride down the route.
The parade was led off by a motorcycle escort of Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, followed by the Dykes of Bikes contingent, the traditional lead contingent for the parade.
