Overheard in West Hollywood...

Check out the new mannequin that Weho resident ChadMichael Morrisette has created in honor of Lady Gaga. He tweeted earlier today, "@LadyGaga  here is the mannequin of you, that all of #WestHollywood is gonna see on the roof of my house #bornthisway." See accompanying photo. 

The Oscars may be held at the Kodak Theatre, but doesn't get in the way of West Hollywood jumping in on the fun. on Santa Monica Boulevard is giving its customers the superstar Hollywood treatment by rolling out the red carpet this week--literally. Some Weho residents have been tweeting out photos, check out the red carpet photo that one customer "ItsTerri" tweeted out. See accompanying photo. 

During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, the panel took action against U.S. congressional legislation that seeks to limit abortion rights and a woman’s right to choose. They council approved three resolutions at its meeting that oppose the congressional bills related to women’s health and abortion, with Councilwoman saying they would, "severely limit access to health care for millions and millions of women." The city of West Hollywood declared itself a pro-choice city in 1993—the first on record in the United States—and has always strived to support policies and initiatives focused on women’s health and reproductive rights, the city said in its announcement. The buzz around the neighborhood also includes the annual one-day fundraising event "Go Eat L.A." Many people in Weho are tweeting about this event as it is taking place today, Feb. 24 throughout Los Angeles County. Participating restaurants (including some in Weho) are donating a portion of their day's receipts to help people struggling with AIDS/HIV. The money raised will go toward Aid For AIDS and The Serra Project a nonprofit organization that helps provide housing for people living with HIV/AIDS.
