‘The Soundtrack of My Life,’ by Sony Executive Clive Davis, is Book Soup Bestseller

More than 150 people got copies of the star-studded autobiography signed at the Weho bookstore last week.

Even before Clive Davis, the acclaimed author and chief creative officer of Sony Music, did a book-signing event at Book Soup in West Hollywood this past Friday, his star-studded autobiography, The Soundtrack of My Life, was already a Book Soup bestseller.

“We’ve done really well with The Soundtrack of My Life,” said Book Soup Promotional Manager Jennifer Ramos, adding that more than 150 people turned up for Davis’ March 15 book signing event at the store.

Each one of them bought copies of Davis’ autobiography at Book Soup—a precondition for getting the book signed.

“They can bring copies from outside and get them signed—as long as they buy another copy at the store,” explained Assistant Promotional Manager Dan Graham.

“All of our signed copies are gone,” he added.

Davis, probably the most celebrated record company executive ever, signed quite a few pre-ordered copies as well as Internet orders, Graham said.

Soundtrack was Number One on the Book Soup nonfiction bestseller list for about three of the past four weeks, Graham said.
