“Last year’s city-wide yard sale was such a great success, we are doing it again. So, clear out the clutter, make some cash and help keep useful items out of the landfill,” said Mayor Jeff Prang in a press statement.

All participants must register for the city-wide yard sale, just like they would any other yard sale held any other weekend in the city. Participation in this weekend’s yard sale does not count against the city’s limit of two garage sales per year.

Because it is a city-wide event, the city is helping to promote it via fliers and ads around town. The city also is offering a listing of all participating yard-sale locations on its website, thus making it easier for people to find the sales.

In addition to the yard sale, the city is making it an even greener weekend by offering a free document shredding and electronic waste collection service on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot behind It’s a chance to get rid of all those papers and files you no longer need, along with those old computers, laptops, cell phones, TVs, stereos, broken DVD players and such.
