West Hollywood Library to Host L.A. Women’s International Film Festival
Funded in part by a grant from the city's Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission, the annual event is taking place Mar. 24-29 in the library's Community Meeting Room.
Women's History Month is almost at an end, but the celebration would not be complete without the Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival, and this year, it is happening in West Hollywood.
The 8th annual film festival and symposium, funded in part by a grant from the City of West Hollywood through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission, will take place Saturday, Mar. 24 through Thursday, Mar. 29 in the Community Meeting Room at the new .
The L.A. Women's International Film Festival is produced annually by Alliance of Women Filmmakers, a nonprofit organization established by Diana Means to empower women filmmakers to create diverse roles for women. The festival showcases films of all genres made by women from around the world.

Highlights of the 2012 festival include a filmmaker symposium with distribution and finance workshops presented by Warner Bros. Business Resource Groups, Women of Warner and Black Employees of Warner Bros., with entertainment attorneys Akua Boyenne and Anne Moebes. The symposium is co-sponsored by the West Hollywood Women's Advisory Board.
Event hours are Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $10. Parking is available in the five-story West Hollywood Park Parking Garage. For more information, call 818-749-6162 or visit www.lawomensfest.com.
