Tuesday's Scoop: Stand Up for Japan and Tuesday Night Social Club

The Laugh Factory hosts a comedy benefit to raise funds for Japan relief efforts and Plummer Park hosts a social club for Russian and English speakers.

The committee meets Rooms 5 and 6 of Plummer Park at 6:30 p.m. Crews will be cleaning sewer lines, video inspecting sewer lines, and installing a cured-in-place liner that will rehabilitate existing sewer pipes around the sewer manholes east of Hayworth Avenue through July 2011, according to Donn Uyeno of the City’s Engineering Division.

Comedian/actor Kevin Nealon will host a comedy benefit to raise funds for Japan relief efforts at . Among those scheduled to perform are Nealon, Tommy Davidson, Tony Rock, Jeremy Hotz, Jackson Perdue, Paul Ogata, KT Tagara and Paul Rodriguez. Tickets are $20 and $30 for VIP.

The Russian Advisory Board, the recreational club Time Presses and the Russian-American Club host the event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at 's Great Hall. The social club will feature actor, poet, singer, composer Aleksander Vertinsky, as well as group and solo karaoke, potluck food and an opportunity to communicate in Russian and English languages, according to the event listing.
