Wednesday's Scoop: Catholic Comedy Night at the Laugh Factory

The charity event will benefit Camarillo's St. John's Seminary, Society of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Michael's Church & School of Los Angeles.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Wednesday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Catholic Comedy Night 

Comedians Fritz Coleman, Andy Kindler, Jimmy Brogan, Bil Dwyer, Don Friesen and Carl Kozlowski are taking the stage at the for a cause Wednesday night. The Sunset Strip comedy club is hosting the charity event for three Catholic schools from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25.

  • The city's Senior Advisory Board is meeting at 2 p.m. in the Community Conference Room at City Hall.Information will be provided about the city's commemoration of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 and a representative from the National Council of Jewish Women/Women Helping Children will discuss the annual clothing give-away, Light up a Library.   • The Disabilities Advisory Board is meeting at 6 p.m. in the Community Conference Room. The Board will receive a presentation about the city's transit programs and prospective route changes to the CityLine service, as well as a presentation from the Rent Stabilization Annual Report (2010) that are relevant to the concerns of the Board, according to the meeting agenda.

Other Happenings:

  • Stephen Maitland-Lewis ("Ernie" on the 1960s sit-com My Three Sons) will attend a reception and book signing for his new novel, Emeralds Never Fade, at . The memoir is described as "how one child star beat the odds and survived the dark side of the Hollywood dream factory — with charm, wit, determination... and big horn-rimmed glasses." The book costs $24.95. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Actors Fund.

  • Wednesday's forecast is sunny and mostly clear, with a high near 75, calm wind, and a low around 53, according to the National Weather Service.
