Main Event: Hair Color for a Cure
Internationally recognized eSalon.com Color Director Estelle Baumhauer and The Parlour on 3rd's team of top hairstylists are providing cancer survivors with a complimentary hair experience all day long. Hair services are complimentary, by appointment only, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mimosas and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Runner Up: Countdown Party to 2011 LA Equality Awards
The 2011 Los Angeles Equality Awards Committee is hosting a free gathering at the Jasper Showroom, 8525 Melrose Ave., a flagship showroom of Michael S. Smith, interior designer and decorator for numerous Hollywood stars. The event includes a hosted vodka bar, soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Guests will be asked to sign up to be a table captain for the 2011 Los Angeles Equality Awards and to purchase tickets for the event.
Other Happenings:
- The monthly meeting of the Women and Books (WAB) Club will lead a book signing and discussion with Lisa Napoli, author of Radio Shangri-La: What I Learned in Bhutan, the Happiest Kingdom on Earth, from 7-8:30 p.m. in . Admission is free.
- A Prostate Cancer Support Group for gay, bi and transgender men will meet from 7-9 p.m. at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Pl. The peer-to-peer group provides those who are recently diagnosed, living with, or surviving prostate cancer a comfortable place to discuss all the effects of PC on their lives. - The National Weather Service predicts a sunny day, with a high near 73. Patchy fog will roll in after 11 p.m. West Hollywood will see increasing clouds in the evening, with a low around 55.
