Thursday's Scoop: Get Your Free Cup of Joe on National Coffee Day

7-Eleven stores in West Hollywood are offering free medium cups of coffee, cappuccinos and lattes between 7 and 11 a.m.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: National CofFREE Day

Today is National Coffee Day, and to help celebrate, all three West Hollywood locations (two on Santa Monica Boulevard, one on La Cienega) are giving away free medium cups of coffee between 7 and 11 a.m. According to the Facebook page for the event, the free medium coffee offer is extended to medium cappuccinos, lattes, hot chocolate and tea.

Reminder: SCE Planned Power Outage

SCE's contractor Henkels & McCoy will be working to replace deteriorated power pole between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today. Customers living in the 8500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, 8500 block of West Knoll Drive, and 900 block of Westmount Drive will be affected.

  • The National Weather Service predicts patchy fog before 11 a.m., otherwise mostly sunny. Temperatures in West Hollywood will reach a high near 81. The evening will see mostly clear skies and calm wind, with a low around 64.
