Thursday's Scoop: Film Screening, Street Paving and 'BASH’d'

A documentary about early gay life and activism in LA screens at The Renberg Theatre, street paving continues on Holloway and Horn, and a gay rap opera plays at the Celebration Theatre.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: On These Shoulders We Stand

The West Hollywood Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission and the Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board will present a screening of the documentary and a Q&A with the cast and Director Glenne McElhinney as part of the city's One City/One Pride Culture Series at 7 p.m. at The Renberg Theatre – Village at Ed Gould Plaza.

Other Happenings:

  •  continues on Holloway Drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Horn Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no street access during these times.
  • The John C. Fremont Branch Library in nearby Los Angeles is holding a at 6:30 p.m. 
  • Journalist Nancy Rommelman will present and sign copies of at at 7 p.m.
  • The West Coast run of the dramatic gay rap opera BASH’d continues at West Hollywood’s Celebration Theatre at 8 p.m.

  • Thursday will start out partly sunny, then gradually become sunny, reports the National Weather Service. West Hollywood will reach a high near 80 and drop to a low around 62. Wind will remain calm, between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
