Sunday's Scoop: Double-Header Celebrations in Weho

Residents of West Hollywood will thank their mothers and honor veterans who fought during WWII against the Nazis.

Despite the World War II Russian Veterans Memorial plaque being  last week, the city intends to go ahead with its Victory in Europe observance. The ceremony, scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. in , will pay tribute to individuals who lost their lives during the war. The event is free and open to the public.

Join the Abzyme Research Foundation and West Hollywood Mayor John Duran at Supperclub L.A. at 6675 Hollywood Blvd. for a special night of drinks and music by Lady Tigra. Proceeds from the event will go toward the development of a promising therapeutic HIV vaccine, according to the event description.

Walead Beshty Exhibit

Regen Projects II (9016 Santa Monica Blvd.) in Los Angeles hosts Beshty's first solo show at the gallery from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event will present new works that reflect the artist's continued exploration into and rewriting of the historical, conceptual, and formal tenets of the photographic medium.
