Monday's Scoop: Weho to Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

West Hollywood City Council will proclaim October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month at its regular meeting this evening in Council Chambers at the new library.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Monday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kickoff

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in West Hollywood, Councilwoman and Saban Free Clinic Co-Chief Executive Officer Abbe Land with Vice-Chair Dr. Edward H. Phillips and Farin Amersi, MD, Attending Breast Surgeon at the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center, will be speaking at a city-sponsored news conference at 10 a.m. in the lobby of . Bilingual shower cards and pink enamel lapel pins will be available to the public all day, with Wasserman Breast Cancer Risk Reduction Program survey kiosks open from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

  • The West Hollywood City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting in the Council Chambers at the new West Hollywood Library. Council will consider a first reading on an ordinance originally introduced on Sept. 19 that would within the City of West Hollywood. Read the full agenda here.
