1. LA Vegan Beer Fest 2011

  • Where/When: , 9009 West Sunset Blvd./Saturday from 1-5 p.m.
  • Why Go: Proceeds from the 2nd annual event will be donated to ARME (Animal Rescue Media Education). The day will feature vegan food trucks, four bands, and unlimited pours of more than 40 craft beers.
  • Cost: General admission is $40.

2. Beyond Brokeback: A Staged Reading with Music

  • Where/When:  Fiesta Hall, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd./Saturday at 7 p.m.
  • Why Go: Presented by the West Hollywood Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission, Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board and Out West 2011, the event features a staged reading of essays, poetry and music inspired by the film, Brokeback Mountain.
  • Cost: Free

  • Why Go: Step outside and find your Zen for free in beautiful Runyon Canyon Park. If you haven't tried it yet, now's the time.

4. Taking Back Sunday

  • Where/When: , 8430 Sunset Blvd./Doors open at 6 p.m. Sunday. Show starts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Coca-Cola and KROQ present American rock band Taking Back Sunday on Sunset. Its summer tour began June 14 in Denver, and its new album will be available June 28. 
  • Cost: Tickets for advance general admission cost $27.50.

  • Where/When: , 8279 Santa Monica Blvd./Sunday from 7:30-11:30 p.m.
  • Why Go:  O Bar hosts a night of $8 martinis and live music—in a variety of styles including Broadway and pop—with the talented  at the piano.
