Born in Long Beach and raised in Encino, California, Peter was raised on the classic monster/science-fiction/fantasy films of the late 1950s to mid-1960s, particularly in regard to the splendid Toho Japanese monster movies, such as Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and so on. Eventually he began writing articles for fanzines and magazines such as Japanese Giants and G-Fan, and in 2009 published the first American book on the director of many of those films, Ishiro Honda ("Mushroom Clouds and Mushroom Men: the Fantastic Cinema of Ishiro Honda"), as well as "Atomic Dreams and the Nuclear Nightmare: the Making of Godzilla (1954)." He is also the author of two horror novels: "Devil Bat Diary" and "Terror In Tinseltown," and a book of poetry called "A Rainbow's Bold Amen." He is also an actor, director and lecturer. He currently is retired and lives with his family in Agoura Hills, California.
