Photography reminds me not to take anything for granted.  I am a freelance photographer in the city of Los Angeles. I was new to photography in 2000 when I took my first photo class in high school. It soon consumed me. I felt powerful at the push of a button. I've learned so much in the past few years, but have also realized there is much more to learn in a field that seeks to harmonize art with science. I moved to an apartment in Silver Lake and have fallen in love with the view of downtown LA. I often snap photos of the skyline.  I am fascinated by skyscrapers. They remind me that I am in a bustling city of dreams, but also call to mind the haunting images of 9/11; an event that proved the incredible power of photography and its importance in an ever-changing world. It is important for me to appreciate what I have while it is here. Nothing lasts forever. Photography helps things last a little longer and it helps me be grateful for what I have. I am thankful that photography has given me a voice.
