Sunset Strip Business AssociationMore members Todd Steadman and Karmen Beck understood the importance of the Sunset Strip and how many bands got their start here, and decided it made sense to bring many of them back for a huge festival. Landmark clubs like the Roxy, the Key Club and the Whisky A Go-Go all host popular bands in addition to a street show that goes on for three days. Early performers such as Elton John, James Taylor and Tom Waits all have made their debuts in this small and intimate venue. Tickets must be ordered in advance and most shows sell out quickly because this is not a large venue. Artists like Coldplay and The Killers have been known to schedule surprise concert dates when they want to launch new material or try out songs before they go on tour. Walk-ups are welcome, because there is an area of the bar where standing room only ticket holders may crowd in to get a glimpse of the stage.
