Nothing against Ciclavia but how much does the city get for having streets shut down for theseRead More events? The Hollywood Half Marathon, yesterday, only has disclosed a sum going to Make A Wish but that leaves hundreds of thousands of unaccounted income from the event. No one can get this information out of them. It seems exploitive to claim the event is for Make a Wish when there is way way more income from this event unaccounted for. Where is all this money going? Does it go to the city? To L.A. city politicos? The Hollywood Chamber? Does income from ciclavia go to our city? Or politicos? If there is any income from it?And how much does it COST the city for all the street closures? What about all the other inconvenient street closures Hollywood residents AND businesses must endure on going for everything from marathons to premieres? AND they wont stop them during The Hollywood Bowl season...No one can get anywhere..the city claims it has no money, and they want to tax us to fix the streets, streets no one can get around anymore due to constant, abusive events and street closures..Where is all this money going?

I love when the teachers are on strike and their signs say it is for the children. I'm just notRead More sure HOW it is for the children, since the kids are missing school, getting more crowded classrooms and shorter years. Crappy teachers with tenure are kept on, while dynamic and effective young teachers are fired. How exactly is that for the kids?

leave the clock alone , i can adjust my own time to come and go, the only thing accomplished isRead More reordering everyone so we all try to access the freeway at the same time

i do suggest you write your congresspeople about it, I do it every time it comes up, the more theyRead More hear from people, the more likely they are to do something. The last extension to DST came with the stipulation that if it didn't save power, then it would automatically revert. The studies were that it didn't save power, but for some reason, it didn't revert. Make your voices heard.

You write, "not everyone gets a chance to read neighboring sites," as though everyoneRead More wants to do so. Guess again. This site has long ago ago stopped serving West Hollywood, and trying to get people here to read what people elsewhere think about their own town seems slightly, well, an exercise in futility.

I am always intrigued when people walk out of a gym, all pumped up, looking good, then light up aRead More cigarette and head to a bar to have some cocktails. But will eat rabbit food and egg whites. Confusing to me.
