I agree Jess. Sometimes it is difficult to escape the madness but that is part of life living in WH.Read More If one doesn't like it they can always move. I hope to when I can. Moving is expensive etc.....

It is incredibly sad that "The City" approves buildings being raised, and megastructuresRead More replacing them; and approving more places for people to go and get drunk, ruin their health, and possibly be involved in a "hate crime" or an accident on the way home. How about adding something "useful" to the "Civic Center", some nice live entertainment venire? Instead of ANOTHER BAR!
Paul June 16, 2013 at 03:07 pm
They should actually move city Hall into the new Library and move the library to the present cityRead More Hall location. They are going to renovate the park again soon and a lovely civic center with live music would be awesome. This is not just a city with deviant drunks destroying there health

I blame the West Hollywood council member for the closure of the long established main stay lounge,Read More the Palms. West Hollywood is such a small area. It should have never become it's own city. Look at all the money WH has yet the city of Los Angeles is broke. If WH was still part of the city of Los Angeles all the money generated here in WH would be going towards the deficit facing Los Angeles. All these little areas breaking off on there own is a bad idea. Things were better off before cityhood if you ask me here in West Hollywood.

Based on those prices, this is NOT a restaurant for the locals. And I grew up in the Northeast andRead More I already know won't be eating real New England fare. Shame.

I'm sad to read that. I've lived in Weho for several years but am finding I go out of Weho more whenRead More eating out (which is a lot) than staying here. That's mostly due to price and choice. Thankfully, there are places like Fresh Corn Grill, Tender Greens, Bossa Nova and Burgerim. You can bet that the new P.U.M.P. and David Cooley's new restaurant next to it will only add to the growing number of expensive restaurants in Weho. Oh, well, I guess that's progress!

Finally we will have in Los Angeles and even better, it’s in West Hollywood an East coastRead More style seafood restaurant. There has always been so many good ones back on the east coast. I love Legal Seafood from Boston and Florida, BLT Fish in New York, Bookbinders, which used to be a landmark in Philadelphia before it closed. I also like the Oyster bar and restaurant in Grand Central Station. I wish Ted & Connie’s much luck and can’t wait until they open.

The elder Starkman had been involved in the restaurant industry prior to his work with Jerry'sRead More Famous Deli. In November 1984, Starkman founded a casual dining establishment called Starky's, which combined a deli operation with a pizza parlor and a video game arcade at the top of The Beverly Center in Beverly Hills, California. Due to the facility's lack of street visibility, its location in an enclosed shopping mall that itself had a limited range of hours of operation, and numerous problems with hygienic conditions at the mall which were outside of Starky's staff's control, the restaurant did not do as well as was expected, and its doors were closed in December 1992.

I seem to recall the arcaded also. The BH center was notorious for it's gay cruising.

I bike ride all the time. West Hollywood is not exactly a city designed for bike riding. The bikeRead More lanes are a joke on the narrow Santa Monica Blvd. A good idea but not safe.

It was my night time home LOL. Was there every nite, didn't care about the music much because i wasRead More a punk, but met hundreds of women there. It was fantasic. Loved the atmosphere and the fact that anybody was welcome there, not just us girlz. Lemon

I never went there in all the years I have lived here but I going to start to start going as a wayRead More to recognize the landmark lesbian bar.

@scott Furguson Why not just change the amount of time you can park in a space versus turn on theRead More meters more and more often to suck more money out of the residents and visitors? It's greed because the core of it is to increase the revenue flow into the the cities already massive parking take which to many is already meter madness! I believe that stream grabbed 10 million last year. There is nothing creative, and or innovative in increasing meter hours and days. It's a move that has one goal and that is to increase the city's revenue stream. Furthermore the spin that it will help business is such a crock of illogical spin that defies the basic common sense that to charge more to come to the city will attract more visitors. Is it possible that the reason that parking has become such a problem is that the council on their own changed the zoning laws and thus pushed more density into he city while also allowing new business to open with not enough parking spaces required by code? Are you familiar as well with the city's cleverly crafted "Parking Credits" program as well?

Beverly Hills is smart, they have free parking in their city lots for a few hours, and there areRead More several around the shopping areas, so it is different.

The sky isn't going to fall in if gays are allowed to marry. If it will shut the militant gays upRead More about this topic then let them have it already. If and when this comes to pass the gay community should show some class because the people who oppose this feel as strongly as you do. They are church going people and we all know how the church feels about homosexuality.

Amazing meat. They grill many kinds of burgers on-site (lamb, turkey, chicken, tuna). I have triedRead More almost all of them, and they are all good and all interesting, with various herbs and spices mixed into the patty. I especially recommend the Burgerim Lamb Burger. The prices are very reasonable, all around $7.

These burgers are simply amazing! Buying turkey and chicken for the work week from Burgerim onRead More Sunday is seriously one of the highlights of my week. First off, the meat is the best I have ever tasted. Try the Burgerim Turkey Burger, Burgerim Chicken Burger, or the Burgerim Crispy Chicken Burger. Oh its too good.
Victoria Stark May 5, 2013 at 10:16 pm
My fiance and I absolutely love the people and the food at the Burgerim stand! We went here lastRead More evening and grab yummy turkey burgers...great spices. The turkey is locally, organically grown and is delicious, and the people are great...super friendly and always willing to chat about their product, which is cool.

I remember just after singer Alyiah died in that tragic plane crash in the Bahamas, cause her littleRead More plane was overloaded with luggage, all her fans went to Tower Records to leave wilting flowers and candles as a tribute to her marvelous music. They didn't go to a Best Buy store, they went to Tower Records on Sunset. It was history. It brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. Not quite a real full tear, but almost.

There food is just so, so. VERY pricey! People eat there to see and be seen. Save your money and getRead More a healthy burrito at Chipotle. I wish they had put one on the corner of Robertson & Santa Monica Blvd instead on the Bev. center. It would put the other places to eat out of business.

Personally, I miss the Abbey of old. I stopped patronizing the establishment once it became justRead More another WeHo club. As a quiet little coffee shop, it was quaint with much atmosphere and was a great place to sit, have a coffee and a slice of cake and observe people. Now, it's just another noisy bar.

Not much to save. Put a brass plaque on the sidewalk if it means that much. Why tie up a propertyRead More owner's investment with an ugly awkward structure. If a building is going to be saved, there needs to be something beautiful to save.
