The Ladd Co.
<p>The Ladd Co. is a motion picture production company founded by Alan Ladd Jr., son of actor Alan Ladd. The company has produced such films as <em>Chariots of Fire, Blade Runner, The Right Stuff</em>,<em> Braveheart</em> and the <em>Police Academy</em> franchise. Ladd himself has been in the business since 1963.</p> <p>Apart from his own production company, Ladd has at different times presided over 20th Century Fox and MGM/UA. While at these studios, Ladd oversaw production of <em>Star Wars</em>, <em>Alien</em>, <em>Breaking Away</em>, <em>All That Jazz</em>, <em>The Rose</em>, <em>A Fish Called Wanda</em> and <em>Thelma and Louise</em>.</p>
