Rescues of the Week: Elvis and Bamboo

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals spotlights a laid back Dachshund named Elvis and a friendly 4-year-old.

Elvis is a 10-year-old Dachshund Mix. He is a a happy-go-lucky guy looking for a home to spend his golden years. Elvis loves leisurely strolls and spending time with people of all ages. He even enjoys the occasional bath and thinks brushing is a wonderful treat. You can visit Elvis at the South Bay Pet Adoption Center in Hawthorne. Call 310-676-1149 for more information.

Bamboo is a 4-year-old Domestic Short Hair who gets along with other cats. He is a friendly and affectionate boy with a unique personality. Visit Bamboo at the P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village & Education Center in Long Beach. Call 562-570-7722 to learn more about this playful cat.

This week's rescue animals are part of the spcaLA adoption program, where all adopted pets are micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Ace of Hearts adoption days are held every Saturday at the  from 1-4 p.m.
