Rescue Pets of the Week: Cuddle Cat Barnabas and Josie the Charged Chihuahua
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals spotlights a snuggle buddy and a quiet senior.
Barnabas, domestic shorthair cat, loves to snuggle and especially enjoys being scratched under his chin. Since loud noises and quick movements make him nervous, a home without young children would suit Barnabas best. Visit the 1-year-old at the South Bay Pet Adoption Center. Call 310-676-1149 for more information.
Josie, a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix, is a quiet, treat-motivated dog. She walks well on a leash and loves to snuggle under a blanket. Don't let her age fool you—Josie has the energy of a 1-year-old. She would do best as the only dog in a home with older kids. Visit Josie at the P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village & Education Center and ask an adoption counselor about the Underdog Program, which offers a special rate for senior pets. Call 562-570-7722 for more information.
This week's rescue animals are part of the spcaLA adoption program. All adopted pets are micro-chipped and spayed or neutered before they go home with their new families. If you are ready to adopt, be sure your whole family can meet the would-be pet first.
