Latest Restaurant Vodvil Offers Old-Fashioned 'Game Night Out'

New West Hollywood restaurant brings interactive games to dining.

In this world of Facebook, online dating, texting and cyber everything, we are so connected that we are disconnected when it comes to good old-fashioned, in person socializing.

Vodvil just opened on North Fairfax Avenue, and it's all about face-to-face connecting. You don't just eat and drink, you get to play games (no, not the dating kind) and celebrate nostalgia. From TV and music trivia to word games and recalling details in pictures on a big screen, it's a brand new, old way of having fun. Sort of brain candy for diners in one gigantic living room.

When I walked into Vodvil the other night, immediately I was comfortable, like I was going to a dinner party at a private home. When the game show hosts hopped onstage to lead a game, everyone eagerly participated, grabbing their clipboards to start writing down their answers. Tables erupted in high fives and hoots and howls as the hosts announced the winners.
