POLL: Where's the Best Indoor Cycling Class in West Hollywood?

Tell us where you go to burn hundreds of calories cycling indoors.

Indoor cycling seems to be the latest fitness trend to hit West Hollywood. With the recent wave of exclusive studio openings, we are dedicating this week's Readers' Choice poll to spinning.

Where's your favorite class in town?

In the running are classes at 6-month-old on La Cienega Boulevard, Up Dog Yoga + Cycling and on Santa Monica Boulevard, the Sunset Strip's and trendy NYC chain .

Don't see what you like? Tell us in the comments, and we'll make sure to add it to the poll.

Voting ends at 5 p.m. Friday. Your Patch editor will determine the winner based on a combination of poll results and the number and enthusiasm of reader reviews on Patch Places. We’ll announce the winner Saturday morning.

In addition to voting, check out Patch Places (it's on the menu bar atop this page) and write your favorite coffee shop a positive review, since reviews count toward determining the winner. And after you vote, sign up for our newsletter to be notified about who wins.

The best by far is made in la fitness in Hollywood. Nobody gets close to Andreas classes. I'm spinning 15 years. She is the best!!

I moved to the area recently and was a big time Soul Cycler in NYC. I've spun at each of these studios (except LA Fitness) looking for a new place to spin. After trying out each my favorite is Cycle House. At the end of the day a spin class is only as good as its instructors and music and Cycle House is top notch in each. They also get more of the little things right than Soul Cycle, Equinox, or Up Dog. The staff is friendly, the studio is clean, and the post-spin towels/fruit is a nice touch. You will get a great workout anywhere, but my opinion is the best spin EXPERIENCE is at Cycle House.

Charlene Duarte is one of the most prolific, spin instructor's in California. Up Dog is a very lucky studio to have her.

Spinning at updog is more than a workout - it is a journey. Emily takes me away from the hassles of everyday life. And as Hemmingway said, "It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end." I can't get enough of that place. JF

Up Dog Is awesome. Tevia, Charlene and Emily are incredibly skilled and totally inspirational. Classes are always sold out because they continually deliver a high energy workout. I LOVE Up Dog.

Up dog hands down! I have been spinning for almost 10 years and made the switch a year ago. My body and mind have never been leaner and stronger thanks to Tevia, Sandra, Emily, and Charlene!!!!

Mimi @ Equinox, easily the best class!

Up Dog is by far the best! They have by far the best group of instructors. I can go in the morning or after work and get an amazing class no matter who the instructor is and that says volumes about a studio. They also offer monthly unlimited which saves me 50% more money than if I went to Cycle House or Soul Cycle. In this case I pay less and get more. So glad I purchased the groupon last year. Up Dog rules.

cycle house hands down! i do their unlimited monthly and it's worth every penny. the BEST instructors, amazing location, and it's always a blast every time i go.

Lisa Lefner at cycle house is the bomb. She has great music and amazing rhythm.
Mike ZD April 11, 2012 at 01:34 AM
Let me keep it simple - Cycle House! Best instructors, best location, best perks, best studio, and best mission (with all their charity initiatives). If you haven't been yet, go to Cycle House! I assure you that it will be your favorite too!

Tough decision for me but Cycle House is the winner. I have three instructors that I love - Jason Wimberly, Lisa Lefner, and Nichelle Hines (to be fair, those are the only 3 instructors that I've tried!). I feel bad saying it because I spend most of my time in New York and enjoy working out with the people at Soulcycle when I'm there. But if there was a Cycle House in NYC, I'd go there in a heartbeat over SoulCycle. The workout is substantially harder and I never feel anything less than exhausted when I leave a class. Plus the customer service is truly amazing - everyone behind the front desk works hard to remember everyone's name and their special requests. The owner, her name's Laura, is so sweet and you can see how hard she's worked to make Cycle House the amazing place that it is. Nichelle always ends her classes by saying something along the lines of "our house is your house" - as cheesy as it may sound, I really believe that they feel that way. Cycle House is a family owned business that works hard to treat all their customers like family. Small side note - I went to Up Dog a bunch of times before I started going to Cycle House and it's terrible. Their front desk staff is rude and their instructors are COMPLETELY hit or miss. I'm kind of shocked that they've gotten so many votes because they don't even compare to Cycle House and SoulCycle. Anyone who says that Updog is that amazing clearly hasn't experienced what a true high end spinning studio is like...
Julie April 12, 2012 at 12:02 AM
Cycle House- without a doubt! It's not just a house-it's a home and everyone there is family... And talk about "paying it forward"...two more people eat every time you hop on that bike with your free alkaline water! Julie

COLIN KIM!!!!! CRUNCH EQUINOX AND UP DOG!!!!! The man is amazing... his music is unbelievable and he pushes like NO OTHER!!!!! There is a reason why people wait an hour to sign up for his class!!!! I have never worked out harder in my life and he is kind when he needs to be and pushes when he needs to be. The vibe of the class is always upbeat and energetic... the man brings it! Love him and what he has done for me!!!! Colin Kim all the way... if you dont know, well then you should try it!

DUH?! how can you guys leave out CRUNCH?! there is Colin, Andrew, Serge all have great music and energy. Plus if you spin all the time and you are not a millionaire that can afford to pay so much for EACH class, this is the place to SPIN. If you spin in these other places you have to have so much extra disposable income to afford the work out which is good for those who do.. but they are not for everyone.

Colin Kim! Crunch, Equinox and Up Dog:)

When I joined Up Dog I wasn't sure what to expect, nor did I have any fitness goals. I was just looking to recapture some of the athleticism that I had in my 20's! Meet Adam Goldstein: He immediately captured my attention mostly because of his energy and spirit that knows no boundaries! Adam does it all! Whether on the bike or off the bike doing back-flips, he's both inspired and inspiring and is a natural entertainer! "This is awesome," I said, "I've hit the fitness jackpot!" With expectations set so high; it's easy to experience a letdown, yeah? WRONG! As I started taking his classes more regularly- I've come to realize that his classes are fun, focused, challenging, has the best music ever and now I'm addicted! If that's all there was to Adam's classes it would be more than enough, but he also has a way of mixing things up so the classes aren't repetitive, where in his words "tricking your muscles," means we benefit from a host of new variations to an exercise...really, another hill after a 7 min hill? Yes, it's amazing and super hard! One of his many talents is his ability to lead a class of 30, or so and make you feel like you're the only one there! Also, his timing for knowing when to provide instruction is spot on! I feel really lucky to have discovered Adam and 'THE ADAM SHOW' and I recommend going out of your way to train with him. Simply put, he makes life better!

Adam Goldstein, Colin Kim at UpDog. Absolutely 100% best studio in LA --> its like a dance party on a bike :)
Heidi Elizabeth Groessl April 13, 2012 at 08:01 PM
Lisa Lefner at Cycle House is hands-down, no comparison, by far, the best spin instructor/studio in LA!
Andrew DeCesare April 14, 2012 at 12:51 AM
Cycle House is by far the best spinning house. The crew at Cycle House is out of this world, from the minute you walk in Lara, Adam and James, just to name a few, greet you, ask how your day is going and make sure everything from your shoes (which they provide) to your bike are in perfect condition. The trainers, Cycle House has some of the most experienced, motivated, positive, and good willed people I have ever met. Tolland (who I spin with) will work you harder than you ever though possible but continue to motivate and push you beyond anything you thought possible. Bottom line, if you want a great workout, a clean environment, positive experience and new group of friends look no farther than Cycle House.
KT April 14, 2012 at 01:27 AM
Cycle house for sure!!
Michael April 14, 2012 at 08:28 AM
Show Tune Cycle or any class by Graham at Up Dog is where it's at. Motivational, entertaining and inspiring.
