Mixed-Use Development Purchased in West Hollywood

Trammell Crow Residential's Western Division announced the purchase of the 1.33-acre site on Friday.

Trammell Crow Residential's Western Division announced Friday the purchase of a 1.33-acre site in West Hollywood for a mixed- use development that will include 166 apartments and 9,300 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space.

TCR expects to begin demolition of the sound studio and industrial facility on the property this fall and begin construction of Domain West Hollywood next spring. Residents are expected to move into the complex at 7141 Santa Monica Blvd. in the spring of 2016.

"The architecture will pay homage to its historic location across the street from the Formosa Cafe, which has been a Hollywood celebrity hangout for decades," said Garth Erdossy, senior managing partner at TCR.

The primary design feature will be a grand entry portal leading to a central courtyard containing a pool, kitchen and fire lounge.

Apartments will range from 691 to 1,270 square feet, with rents anticipated to start in the $2,000s for the 133 market-rate units, according to Erdossy. There are also 33 affordable units planned.
