Landavazo Publishes Survey Results

The council candidate conducts a community survey that asked voters to rank the importance of issues and the city's responsiveness.

Christopher Landavazo, a candidate for West Hollywood City Council, on Thursday released the results of a survey his campaign conducted to gauge voter sentiment.

The top five issues according to respondents were "going green," council term limits, civic engagement, affordable housing and a tie for fifth place between economic development and social services.

Survey takers who felt the city was responsive to residents totaled 27 percent, while 21.6 percent thought the city was either very responsive or unresponsive.

Thirty-seven Weho residents, most of whom were gay men who have lived in the city more than 15 years, took the survey.

"In an effort to connect, my campaign reached out via this survey in order to better understand the dynamics here in West Hollywood," Landavazo said in a posting on his website. "Elections and leaders should reflect the voices in our community."

ok great, so now that you are armed with this info, where do you stand on the issues and how would you make them better???.....hint: standing for something is better than not taking a stand at all....please give us a reason (reasons!) to vote for you.....steve martin will get my vote, but who will get the other one?

It is a shame that more people didn't complete the survey. only 37 did. I would like to know where Mr. Landavazo stands on the issues we face.

I am excited to let West Hollywood Patch readers know this Monday I will be publishing my comprehensive "Community Plan" which address all 10 of the issues covered in my community survey. I look forward to truly engaging our city and to working with our community to implement common sense solutions to address our needs.

Thirty-seven Weho residents is NOT a very big number for a City with what? about 40,000 +|- residents. At the very least it would have been more impressive to have 1,000 or maybe 4,000 ..... 37? that is a morning crowd at Starbucks! But then again WeHo has a dismal turnout for elections, especially when they are not part of National Election Day. How about a study to show voter turn out for say, the last 5 Presidential elections?

he will reveal his positions on monday! the suspense is killing me. what has he been running on so far if his "platform" is still not disclosed?

WITH ALL DO RESPECT, IF GOING GREEN IS THE NUMBER ONE CONCERN OF THE 37 PEOPLE WHO TOOK THIS SURVEY, I AM WONDERING IF ANY OF THEM LEAVE THE HOUSE. IF THEY USE THE PARKS OR STORES, THEY WILL SEE PEOPLE WITHOUT HOMES OR PLACES TO SLEEP, PEOPLE IN NEED OF RECOVERY SERVICES, AND THE NEED FOR MORE SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES. GOING GREEN? AHHHHH LET'EM EAT CAKE.

At least he's revealing his positions. What platform are the others running on? Borelli claims support from female voters. Maybe they know his platform...
Rudolf Martin January 26, 2013 at 12:56 AM
actually Borelli does address some issues on his website: http://www.samborelli.com/issues

I JUST read Steve Martin's card received in the mail--VERY impressive! I was already sold on him before I knew all his stances. So who's my second vote gonna be for? I'll await Landavazo's plan AND the Feb. 6 Candidate's Forum in the WEHO Auditorium.

Words vs. Actions: I believe that voters should not only look at what candidates claim they do but rather look at what they really do. This is the very reason my team has begun publishing a blog titled, "Get to know Landavazo". In anticipation of publishing my "Community Plan" I hope West Hollywood residents will visit my blog and get to know me and my core values through my experiences as a community activist, member of law enforcement, Navy Veteran, educator, and non-profit founder. Leadership in action, decisive common sense decision making and a passion for civic engagement are just a few of qualities I offer to our community.
