Collision Backs up Traffic on Fountain Avenue

The crash occurs around 8 a.m. at Fountain and Genesee avenues in West Hollywood.

Twitter was abuzz Friday morning about a traffic collision on the east side of West Hollywood.

According to a watch commander at the , the accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Fountain Avenue at North Genesee Avenue.

Just after 9 a.m., Justin Alexander tweeted to Weho Daily, "I was just hit by LAPD on Fountain. Street completely shut down between Genessee and Orange Grove."

The watch commander was unable to confirm whether LAPD caused the accident as the incident was still under investigation.

By 9:20 a.m., traffic was completely congested around Fountain while deputies responded.
