Police Blotter: Stolen iPhones, iPods and an iPod Touch

Six crimes along Santa Monica Boulevard also make this week's list.

Plenty of unlocked vehicles in West Hollywood gave thieves easy access to cell phones, wallets, bags and other miscellaneous items. Here is a list of incidents that occurred within the past week as compiled by the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station.

Three cars in a row
During the night, unknown thieves entered three unlocked vehicles in a garage and stole clothing, rollerblades, a cell phone charger and other miscellaneous items. The loss was estimated at about $6,400. The crime occurred on July 29 at about 4 a.m. in the 900 block of Kings Road.

Liquor run
Deputies say an unknown burglary entered a business in the 8300 block of Sunset Boulevard and stole cartons of cigarettes and bottles of liquor. The loss was estimated at bout $360. The crime was reported at 10 a.m. on July 29.

Mobile thieves
Unknown thieves entered an unsecured vehicle in an apartment building garage in the 1400 block of Harper Avenue and stole a duffel bag, shirt, watch, iPod, iTouch and a briefcase. The crime occurred around 6 a.m. on July 28. The loss was estimated at about $800.

A thief described as a male Hispanic stole a $500 iPhone from a man in a parking lot and fled in a vehicle. Deputies say the crime occurred in the 8900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at about 12:50 a.m. on July 30.

A woman reported her $500 iPhone stolen in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The victim says an unknown thief took her cell phone from the center console of her nightclub-valet-parked vehicle. The crime occurred on July 30 at about 2:30 a.m.

Lock your doors
A woman reported that an unknown thief entered her unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of Laurel Avenue and stole an iPhone, sunglasses, iPod, clothing, cash and other miscellaneous items. The crime occurred on July 30 at about 1 a.m. The total loss was estimated at about $1,095.

Sidewalk theft
A suspect described as a male Hispanic forcibly robbed a man as he walked on the sidewalk. The crime occurred in the 8600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at about 2:30 a.m. on July 30. The suspect took the victim's $250 iPhone and fled in a vehicle.

Test run ends with arrest
After a license plate check revealed a vehicle was a reported stolen, the driver and four occupants were arrested at about 6 a.m. on July 30 in the 1200 block of La Brea Avenue. Deputies arrested the individuals for taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and receiving stolen property.

Gun control
After allowing a couple described as Caucasian to enter his apartment, a man discovered that his revolver valued at about $500 had been stolen from his bedroom area. The crime occurred on July 31 at about 11:30 a.m in the 900 block of Stanley Avenue.

Bike Thefts
An unknown thief stole a bicycle and chain lock from a parking space at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Kings Road. The crime occurred on July 31 at about 12 pm.

A locked bicycle was taken from a bike rack in front of a business location in the 7100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The crime occurred on Aug. 2 at about 2 p.m.

Traveling thieves
Two unknown thieves entered an unlocked vehicle in a garage and stole a $300 GPS system and miscellaneous items from the glove compartment. The crime occurred on Aug. 4 at about 5 a.m. in the 1400 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue.

Nicotine fiend
A burglar broke into a business and stole three cartons of cigarettes valued at about $90. Damage to the entry door was estimated about $500. The crime occurred in the 8200 block of Sunset at about 10 a.m.

The broken locker
At a health club, located in the 8600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, an unknown burglar broke into a locker and stole a wallet, identification, credit cards and two cellular phones. The loss was estimated at about $1,525. The crime occurred on Aug. 5 at about 8 a.m.

Pet products
A suspect described as a male Hispanic stole two metal dog cages, valued at about $1,200, from the rear of a business location and fled in a truck. The crime occurred in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard on Aug. 5 at about 8 a.m.

Deputies' Log:

  • Four suspects were arrested for theft or burglary after being observed shoplifting at local businesses.
  • Seven vehicles were burglarized by unknown suspects. The total estimate of damage and articles taken was about $29,500.
  • Two vehicles were stolen by unknown thieves.
  • Three reported stolen vehicles were recovered and the owners notified.
  • Eleven vehicles were impounded for 30 days since they were being driven by an unlicensed driver or a person with a suspended or revoked license
