Police Blotter: Stolen Bike, Keyed Car and Drinking Glass Assault

A purse snatched at Starbucks and a vehicle vandalized on Fountain Avenue make this week's crime roundup.

A woman's bicycle is lifted in front of West Hollywood Library, a bar-goer is assaulted with drinking glasses, and a purse is snatched right outside Starbucks this week. Read on for more information on incidents that occurred within the past week as compiled by the .

Assault with Deadly Weapon

Deputies responded to a fight call at (8944 Santa Monica Blvd.) at 12 a.m. on Aug. 16. Four suspects threw between five and six glasses at a victim, who was struck in the face and on the body. One of the suspects allegedly tapped the victim on the shoulder and said, "You aren't cute," which prompted the victim to confront the suspect. The victim was leaving the club when he was hit by the drinking glasses.

Vehicle Vandalism

A 2008 Chevy TrailBlazer was vandalized between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Aug. 16 in the 8200 block of Fountain Avenue. The informant said someone scratched 8-10 inches on the driver's side with a sharp object. The vehicle was left in the underground guest parking lot of the building. There were no surveillance cameras. The damage amounts to $300, according to the report.

Petty Theft

A woman's mountain bike parked in front of the (715 N. San Vicente Blvd.) on Aug. 15 was stolen overnight. The victim locked her bike to the rack at 11 p.m. on Monday, and when she returned Tuesday at 9 a.m. it was no longer there. There was no surveillance footage.

Grand Theft

Two cases of grand theft occurred on Aug. 14. Around 9:30 a.m., a woman reported her purse was stolen at (8595 Santa Monica Blvd.). She said she had placed her bag on the back of her chair, and less than three minutes later she noticed it went missing. Deputies checked the area for witnesses, but were unable to locate the purse.

Between 1:15 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., $500 went missing from a woman's wallet. The victim and her sister were traveling in a cab from their home in Burbank to a residence in the 600 block of Robertson Boulevard. The victim allegedly fell asleep shortly after leaving. The cab driver woke her up at 2:15 a.m. and said the fare was $50. When the victim reached for her wallet, she said her credit cards were out of place and $500 was missing.
