Police Blotter: Dine and Dash, Vandalism, and Assault With Deadly Weapon

The first half of May sees a victim assaulted with a belt buckle and a visitor's belongings defaced with permanent red ink.

This week's Police Blotter highlights crime from the past two weeks. West Hollywood saw armed robbery, assault with a belt buckle, and three Cinco de Mayo dine-and-dashers. Read on for more information on these incidents and others as compiled by the .

Armed Robbery at Fountain and Fairfax

On the evening of Wednesday, May 11 at approximately 11:10 p.m., victims were walking in the area of Fountain and Fairfax Avenues when a suspect in a Cadillac SUV approached them with a handgun and demanded their property, according to a report released Friday. The victims complied and the suspect reentered the vehicle. With the license plate number obtained by the victims, South Los Angeles Station deputies were able to locate the suspects. Detectives from the West Hollywood Station responded, served search warrants and recovered three handguns. Both suspects are being held on $100,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing, according to Lt. Lawrence Del Mese.

Property Vandalized With Profanity on Havenhurst

A black Samsonite suitcase ($400), laptop case ($40), and Toshiba laptop ($50) were vandalized overnight Saturday, May 7. The victim, who was staying at an apartment on the 900 block of Havenhurst Drive, left for the night and returned at 11:45 a.m on Sunday to find profanity written in red ink on his belongings. The victim believes the woman he was staying with, who was not his girlfriend, is the suspect. She may have been mad, he said, because she expected him to spend more time with her.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon off Robertson

Deputies responded to a victim who had blood along the left side of his head and face at on Robertson Boulevard on May 7. The victim said he was walking through the parking lot and had somehow gotten separated from his friends when he encountered two men at the end of an alley. Without any provocation, one man took off his belt from around his pants, wrapped it around his right hand and punched the victim in the left eye. Paramedics from treated the victim. The two men took off in a vehicle toward San Vicente Boulevard.

Dine and Dash Assault Near Sunset

The night of Cinco de Mayo, West Hollywood Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of diners running out on their bill at . The three female diners allegedly attempted to run the employee over while fleeing the Sunset restaurant Wednesday evening. An employee chased after the vehicle, writing down the license number, reported CBS2/KCAL. 

Broken Window on Doheny

Someone broke a French door window pane in a bedroom to an apartment on the 1000 block of Doheny Drive on May 6 between Friday at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The French doors face a parking lot. The damage amounts to $100. The victim did not discover the damage until the morning. She believes the damage was caused by an object thrown from the parking lot, but was unable to locate any object that could cause such damage. Deputies checked surrounding area for suspects or witnesses.
