Michael Lohan Pleads Not Guilty to Domestic Violence Charge

Lindsay Lohan's father is accused of assaulting his former live-in girlfriend and faces a maximum sentence of one year in county jail if convicted.

Michael Lohan pleaded not guilty Monday to a misdemeanor count of attacking his former live-in girlfriend.

The 51-year-old father of actress Lindsay Lohan was  March 22 for allegedly preventing the woman from calling 911, holding her against her will and causing minor injuries, according to the police report.

Lohan was near the  after deputies found him walking in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, and booked with his bail set at $200,000, said Sgt. John Ratto.

Lohan was later transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after he complained of a medical condition not related to the incident, according to the sheriff's statement. He was cited for the charge and released from the hospital, according to City News Service.

Lohan is due back in Beverly Hills Superior Court on July 5 for trial on one count of corporal injury to a cohabitant.
