A woman threw powder at television personality Kim Kardashian at a West Hollywood hotel Thursday night, a sheriff's deputy said.
The woman was detained by security at the hotel in the 1000 block of San Vicente Boulevard, near Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Peter Gomez said.
Kardashian told deputies she did not want to press charges and a non-criminal battery report was taken, Gomez said.
Kardashian returned to her room where she removed powder from her hair and clothing and returned to the event she was hosting, Gomez said.
Paramedics were summoned to the scene, but Kardashian declined medical attention, Gomez said.
The incident occurred at the where Kardashian was holding an event promoting her new fragrance line, True Reflection, the entertainment news website TMZ reported.
Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters took the powder and determined it was cooking flour, according to TMZ.
Deputies from the sheriff's West Hollywood Station responded to the possible battery call shortly before 8 p.m., Gomez said.
