Firefighters Respond to Blaze at Fairfax Ave. Apartment

The fire is contained to one unit in the two-story building in WeHo just north of Fountain Avenue.

A fire gutted an apartment unit in West Hollywood on Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The unit sustaimed enough damage to make it no longer habitable, fire department Supervisor Michael Pittman said. Two residents were displaced.

The incident occurred in a second-floor apartment at 1311 N. Fairfax Ave. Flames were seen shooting through a window as smoke emanated from the two-story building.

Firefighters received a call reporting the fire at 5:50 p.m. and declared it under control at 6:02.

No one was injured, and the cause of the blaze has not been determined.

Personnel from county fire stations no. 7 and no. 8 responded.
