The decomposing body of a man was found in a West Hollywood apartment on Tuesday.
The body was found around 11:20 a.m. in the 7000 block of Fountain Avenue, near La Brea Avenue, said Sgt. Dave Valentine of the Los Angeles County sheriff's West Hollywood Station.
Detectives were trying to determine if the man was the victim of a homicide, Valentine said.
A portion of Fountain Avenue was closed to traffic during the investigation.
This is the second . On June 9, LAPD found a decomposing body in the back of an SUV parked near Willoughby Avenue and Genesee Avenue. That body was later identified as Steven John Simmons of Running Springs. The coroner determined he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
